Rayner appoints Darren Millington as Chief Finance Officer (CFO) and Board member.

Darren has several years’ experience in CFO roles and running international businesses at Board level. Most recently he was at Gama Aviation, an aviation and engineering company and before that at Summit Corporation who specialise in developing drugs for muscular dystrophy and TB.

Professor Gerd Auffarth, Professor Oliver Findl, Professor Michael Amon and Doctor Victor Antunes complete the panel of presenters who make up the symposium ‘Maximising treatment outcomes with premium IOL technologies’, an education program sponsored by Rayner in conjunction with Eurotimes at the XXXII Congress of ESCRS, 13-17 September.

On this date, Rayner will become the exclusive distributor of all Geuder products in England, Scotland and Wales including Fluoron Vitreo Retinal liquids and gases. Previously, Geuder also distributed products through Altomed Limited and M.I.S.S. Ophthalmics, however these products can now only be purchased through Rayner.

Rayner Intraocular Lenses Limited announced today the appointment Martin Jamieson as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO.) Most recently, Mr. Jamieson was Managing Director of Smiths Medical International, a company employing 2,400 worldwide with a turnover of over £400 million.

After enduring a decade of poor vision, 109-year-old Guo Liansheng has been given back the gift of sight by UK intraocular lens (IOL) experts, Rayner.

Before implantation of a Rayner IOL, Madam Guo struggled to detect even the vaguest light changes. Afterwards, she was able to look into her eight-month-old great-great-granddaughter’s eyes for the first time.

This year’s Rayner Medal Lecture was presented by David F. Chang, MD, at the Annual Meeting of the United Kingdom and Ireland Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (UKISCRS). Dr. Chang is an internationally recognized innovator, educator, and clinical investigator in the field of cataract surgery.
